The largest renovation in the history of the Schmelzhof

During the summer/autumn of 2014 the Schmelzhof underwent its largest renovation and extension in its more than 40 year history. At the same time it was also the largest building project in the Lech and Zürs hotel industry. The Schmelzhof will emerge in its new splendour right on time for the scheduled beginning of the season on the 4th December and will be even more attractive and comfortable.

Altogether the Schmelzhof was extended by 1310m² and a further 475m² of existing floor space was renovated resulting in four new spacious Snowflake suites and four new Atelier rooms that can be inhabited for the first time as of the 4th December. Existing rooms were also newly renovated.

The Schmelzhof has also received a new and larger foyer with reception and right next door the new “Blue Bar” with an open panorama fireplace. Our A La Carte restaurant “Gitti´s Esszimmer” has also been given an upgrade. The new 400m² Wellness area has much to offer with its Finnish sauna, Bio-sauna, steam bath, Infra-red cabin, massage rooms, relax and tranquillity lounge.

You may ask yourself how such a huge renovation is even possible in only 7 months, we believe in engaging only the best people, with Jürgen Haller as Architect and site manager coordinating in total around 140 top craftsmen from 35 companies with 95 % being from Vorarlberg. Gerald Schriebl and Gitti Strolz have taken care of the interior decorating with their usual passion. For more than two years everything has been planned right down to the last detail so that something this splendid could be created within a few months.
