Unadulterated skiing pleasure in Lech am Arlberg

Alpine skiing plays a huge role in the Arlberg region. For decades the Arlberg has been known as the “cradle of Alpine skiing.” Bringing together tradition with innovation, it captivates the hearts of devoted ski aficionados every year. Boasting state-of-the-art facilities and 340 km of marked slopes, the ski area offers an El Dorado for winter sports fans and guarantees a relaxed ski holiday packed with variety in the heart of the Arlberg region.

The Arlberg ski area

If you’ve ever skied down a freshly groomed piste or made the first tracks in virgin powder snow on a crystal clear winter morning, then you’ll know that this ski area can work magic on you and take your passion for skiing to a new level. The Lech Zürs am Arlberg ski area offers pure, unadulterated skiing pleasure, and also boasts countless traditional, rustic mountain huts offering food and refreshments. A free village bus and ski bus are available to transport you to and from the slopes.

A powder snow paradise

Here in Lech Zürs your dreams of free-riding can come true. Virgin powder snow and sheer endless deep-snow slopes await all off-piste enthusiasts. When accompanied by expertly trained ski guides and with the right equipment, you can enjoy an experience you’ll never forget. Moreover, Lech Zürs is the only area in Austria which offers heli-skiing – while, of course, paying the greatest possible attention to the unique natural environment

Many of our guests have discovered the sport of winter hiking as an enjoyable alternative to skiing. Lech Zürs boasts a vast network of trails, and the best bit is that one of these beautiful winter walking trails leads right past the Schmelzhof. A great opportunity to enjoy a bit of exercise and fresh air. Along the winter walking trails you can explore several historical churches and chapels and draw inspiration from the breathtaking snow-covered mountain scenery. Or how about a romantic evening walk? The stars appear so close you could almost touch them. An unparalleled experience for all your senses.

Discover the wonderfully scenic Zugertäli valley. The cross-country ski track and the winter hiking trail both run straight past the Schmelzhof.

High-altitude hiking – get closer to the sun

Lech Zürs also offers numerous high-altitude walking trails which enable you to enjoy the unique mountain landscape from a different perspective. An unforgettable experience. And, with the “Sonnenabo” lift ticket you can make use of the mountain lift facilities at a reduced price and let yourself be whisked up in comfort to the walking trail starting points.

Cross-country skiing

Did you know that one of the most scenic cross-country ski tracks runs right past the Schmelzhof? So if you prefer to take your strolls with ski strapped to your feet, then you will love the track that leads towards Zug and on into the Zuger Tal valley. We recommend our guests a stop to visit Franz Josef in the “Älpele,” a wonderfully cosy, rustic hut right next to the track.

Snowshoeing – experience something totally new

Have you ever tried a guided snowshoe hike to one of the area’s many hidden picturesque viewpoints? You can join our hiking guide Toni every Tuesday. The snowshoe hike through the snow-covered Zuger Tal valley is possibly one of the most beautiful of its kind. We’d be delighted to reserve a place for you.
