Winter hiking

Many of our guests have discovered the sport of winter hiking as an enjoyable alternative to skiing. Lech Zürs boasts a vast network of trails, and the best bit is that one of these beautiful winter walking trails leads right past the Schmelzhof. A great opportunity to enjoy a bit of exercise and fresh air. Along the winter walking trails you can explore several historical churches and chapels and draw inspiration from the breathtaking snow-covered mountain scenery. Or how about a romantic evening walk? The stars appear so close you could almost touch them. An unparalleled experience for all your senses.

Our tip:
Discover the wonderfully scenic Zugertäli valley. The cross-country ski track and the winter hiking trail in the direction of Zug and further into the Zügertäli both run straight past the Schmelzhof.

High-altitude hiking – get closer to the sun

Cross-country skiing

Did you know that one of the most scenic cross-country ski tracks runs right past the Schmelzhof? So if you prefer to take your strolls with ski strapped to your feet, then you will love the track that leads towards Zug and on into the Zuger Tal valley. We recommend our guests a stop in the “Älpele,” a wonderfully cosy, rustic hut right next to the track.

Snowshoeing – experience something totally new

Have you ever tried a guided snowshoe hike to one of the area’s many hidden picturesque viewpoints? You can join our hiking guide Toni every Tuesday. The snowshoe hike through the snow-covered Zuger Tal valley is possibly one of the most beautiful of its kind. We’d be delighted to reserve a place for you.
