From homemade apricot jam using fruit from Austria’s Wachau region, to fresh milk and yoghurt directly from local farmers, to warm, crusty rolls from the village baker – even at breakfast, we offer our guests only the best and the quality of our products takes top priority -a fact which our guests appreciate.
In the evening our guests have the choice of three multiple-course menus, with fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. Our head chef and his team combine their skills and innovative ideas to create mouth-watering culinary delights. The ingredients, including herbs grown in grandmother’s own herb garden, are all hand-selected. At the Schmelzhof we leave nothing to chance.
With loving attention to detail, it is Grandmother who takes care of the breakfast. You’ll be amazed! It has everything your heart (and stomach) could ever wish for – from freshly baked local bread specialities to freshly cut fruit. And scrambled eggs don’t come any better than here – you’ll see! A good breakfast offers the best start to an enjoyable, eventful day in Lech, whether you’re planning a day of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or winter hiking.
All those who value a special atmosphere during dinner will love Gittis Esszimmer, the à la carte restaurant at boutique hotel Schmelzhof. The comfy parlor panelled with local spruce and the warm tiled fireplace are the perfect framework for wonderful evenings. Gittis Esszimmer celebrates classic Austrian cuisine and creative international ideas like stars. The menu is extremely diverse. Aside from sweet dishes, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes the different fondues and raclette dishes guarantee an enjoyable evening. And fine wines from magnum bottles will go perfect?ly with your dinner. And a perfect evening should of course end with a fine drink at Blaue Bar.

Good bars tell stories. Like Harrys Bar in Venice, where Giuseppe Cipriani invented the carpaccio for a dyspeptic countess. Or the bar at Hotel Ritz in Paris, where Hemingway is said to have complained about his wife Mary telling him to drink less. The barkeeper then mixed him a drink made up of vodka and tomato juice. Hemingway’s reaction: “Bloody Mary never smelt a thing”.
Good hotel bars are places where exciting encounters happen. An aspiration the Blaue Bar (blue bar) at boutique hotel Schmelzhof shares. Guests here are only served the best drinks. It is also a place where stories are told while the barman cuts paper-thin slices of San Daniele ham on a Berkel from 1933 to serve to his guests.
The Schmelzhof is renowned for its magnums. Our cellar is home to a wide selection of fine wines in magnum bottles. Why? Because wine matures better in larger-volume bottles with the result that it simply tastes better too. Our main focus is on top Austrian wine growers including Gsellman and Heinrich. But it goes without saying that we also offer our guests superb wines from many other wine-growing areas around the globe.
How easy is it to divide a ski day? Enjoy the wonderful powder or corn snow in the mornings and enjoy yourself on the terrace of Schmelzhof in the afternoon. From noon to 3.00 pm it’s Bistro Time! No matter if your hunger is big or small – fine salads, the SCA pasta or the delicious Schmelzhof burger will do the trick. Kaiserschmarren or berry schmarren? Go for it. And then the comfy lounge chairs are just perfect for enjoying the warming rays of the sun. Or maybe an aperol cocktail at the bar? Have a drink with friends and enjoy life
Fancy a small snack on the sun-drenched Schmelzhof terrace or indoors?
