Tip: Winter hikes from the Schmelzhof to Zuger Täli

Alpine skiing is most certainly not the only past-time here. Cross-country skiing and winter walks or hikes also offer exhilarating fun. Lech boasts a vast network of cross-country ski tracks and winter walking trails. At this time of year we can highly recommend a tour to Zug and further into the Zuger Täli valley, all the more pleasurable when accompanied by the warm rays of spring sunshine – a sublimely relaxing experience for body, mind and soul amid a tranquil, spellbinding winter wonderland.

Both the winter walking trail and the cross-country ski track pass very close to the Schmelzhof so you can set off almost from the doorstep. A walk of around one hour takes you from Lech to the little village of Zug where the ‘Allerlei’ café offers the perfect spot for a short rest and a glass of sparkling Prosecco on the sunny terrace before you continue on your way through a glittering snow-covered paradise – approximately one hour – to the ‘Älpele’ mountain hut. You can walk as far into the Zuger Täli valley as you want or as your level of fitness allows. Then you can simply return in the direction of the Schmelzhof. You can, if you prefer, even travel part of the way from Zug back to Lech with the local Blue Bus,. And back in the Schmelzhof you can treat yourself to a tasty afternoon snack, perhaps accompanied by a glass of chilled rosé wine. Alternatively, why not treat your tired legs and feet to an invigorating massage in our spa. Days don’t get much more blissful than this!
