This was a not-to-be-missed evening for all wine lovers! Five distinguished winemakers recounted both their life stories and the history of their wine farms. And each one proudly was presenting a big bottle – a magnum or even a jeroboam – of their very own  favourite wine. Afterwards the Winemakers’ Dinner was served in Gittis Esszimmer. Five mouth-watering dishes created by the Schmelzhof’s team of chefs were accompanied by further superb ‘large-format’ wines presented by their makers from the wineries Humert Frères (Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy), Alois Lageder (South Tyrol), Tenuta Monteverro (Tuscany), Dows Port (Douro) and Matthias Hirtzberger from Weinhofmeisterei (Wachau).
