The Arlberg is merging as one to become Austria’s largest ski area.

Fantastic news for all skiing enthusiasts and Arlberg fans – what belongs together is now merging together. The ski area link-up from Zürs to Stuben and to St. Anton has now been conclusively approved. With the new connecting cableway between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz, and the two Trittkopfbahn and Albonabahn II cableways scheduled for construction in 2016, the Arlberg skiing region is set to come ‘full circle’. Stuben, St. Christoph and St. Anton will already be easy to reach on skis from the coming winter season. Austria’s largest interconnected ski area is in the making. A mega skiers’ playground that will, by global standards, set completely new standards.

Take a look here at the excellently made computer-animated video of the new connection cableways:

“Run of Fame” – The new ski circuit in Arlberg.

At the same time a spectacular new ski circuit is also in the pipeline. Dedicated to ski stars and legends the ‘Run of Fame’ will offer skiers in search of a new challenge 65 kilometres of slopes and an unbelievable 18,000 vertical metres of pure exhilaration. The circuit will take skiers right across the Arlberg massif and reveal the full dimensions of the fully-connected ski area. From Warth in the north, via Lech Zürs with the new Flexenbahn cable-car, to St. Anton/Rendl in the south – it will lead winter sport enthusiasts through the entire Ski Arlberg area. In addition, the Ski Arlberg area will be hosting an annual event on the new circuit – the ‘Hunt of Fame’ – a race that is set to be in a class of its own!

Further information on the ‘Run of Fame’ ski circuit and the ‘Hunt of Fame’ race will be available shortly at www.run-of-fame.ski.
